It's a brisk, cool morning!

Well, last night the cool temperatures came through...the low was about 50 here in our part of the woods and I had to get the warming light for my little chickens so they wouldn't catch a cold.  Here's how the morning looked as I walked out and we began our chores. Horses are grazing, until they hear our voices...

...then they come running...they are such social creatures and enjoy being with 'their people'.

Then over to my little chickens. They are all waiting to be given their favorite feed. Patiently waiting for me at the their little gate, they squawk and move about happily...

Now, they're perfectly happy with their favorite food. Even our duck is content.  They're so funny as they peck their way to the feeder.

It was such a gorgeous morning here on the farm that I had to share it.  The sun is warm, the breeze is cool and the air is so fresh!
Well, time to get started on school and breakfast, and laundry and all that.  We must be finished in time to go into town and then we have church tonight.  Plus, I have a test to take in science and then one to take tomorrow in history too-since I went back to college my time is even more precious...I need to get at it!~Have a great day~

Our B-A-B-Y turned "8"!!!

It seems like its gone by so fast.  Our youngest son has just turned 8 years old!  Austin Parker (1st & middle name-I call him that) is so full of life and ready to take on anything fun, playful and muddy! I love it.  Having boys has taught me so much.  I love that too!

Every birthday we do a little something special for each of our children.  Since we don't DO a big party  'EV'ery year, we always do this one little thing..we find out what they've been wanting and get it for them, then we get 2 balloons, a cool card and wrap the balloon strings around the gift and place it at the end of their bed. (With the ribbon, little package, balloons and all, it looks so cool to wake up to on your birthday) When they wake up on their birthday, the first thing they see is their balloons and little gift waiting for them.  They come running out of their room, bringing their gift, and ready to open it up.

This year, Austin has been enjoying playing football and his favorite team is a local college team.  So, his gift was a cool mouth piece, 'eye' black, and a jersey...complete with the #8!

Another thing we always do is let the birthday kid pick everything they want to eat, all day long, for every meal.   For breakfast he wanted his favorite 'HOMEMADE PANCAKES' with homemade syrup, and also some bacon with OJ.  Nachos and salsa for lunch and then we took him to his favorite restaurant.  It's one where he can eat as much as he wants and then lots of 'dessert'!!  Can you guess...Ryan's!  Not my fav, but afterall, it was his day.  Thank goodness he got a good breakfast and lunch.

Then this year we decided to have a BIG BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR HIM.  He wanted to play football with his friends and eat cake and icecream and lots of chips...we've been planning for a few weeks and gave out the invitations a week ago...so much excitement...we wake up this morning and it's pouring down rain, thunderstorms expected A-L-L day and lots of wind.  So.  What to do?!?  I tell him, "Let's just have party here with family, put out all the balloons & streamers, get out the cake-icecream-chips and extra cupcakes along with the soda and candy...we're gonna have a party...right here and you can play games, watch a movie, play playstation football, and anything else you want...IT'S YOUR DAY!   Let's just have fun."

That's just what we're doing. Right now he's having a blast with his bro's and sis's and I'm sitting here posting about it all.  That's the end of posting for me...I'm going to go play with them and eat a cupcake & doritos...we already had one for breakfast...and lunch...now for snack.

Happy 1st Day of Fall!!

Oh, how I absolutely love this time of year!  Yea--Yea--Yippee!!  It's such a wonderful season and what alot we have to look forward to.
I have to say this one thing..."To be blessed any more, we'd have to be in heaven."

Last week, my wonderful friend, Bridget, came over with her family and we had a fun time making breakfast together and then spending the rest of the day talking, having tea and sitting outside watching the lazy day go by...then...

...we decided to get out some of my favorite things:  fall wreaths, pretty table cloths, place mats, napkins and rings, little salt & pepper shakers, along with some leaf-shaped candy dishes, a favorite autumn cup & saucer set, and other kitchen items complete with leafy towels and pot holders!!  I know, it may sound  a little silly, but it is a little thing that I always look forward to doing. So I treat myself every season to this 'little thing'. :) Everything looked so pretty and festive and it just brightened the whole house.

Now, we have this new season upon us and we will build more memories with our family along with others that have come into our lives.  Every year about this time, our family begins to reflect on all that we have been, (and sometimes haven't been) able to accomplish over the past year. It would be easy to sit here and type out lots of things that we didn't get to do, or how things didn't go as we planned, but how would that help anyone? It really wouldn't. So, I'll share something with you...

I woke up today breathing fresh air
brushed my hair & teeth and dressed in one of my favorite dresses
I was free to read my Bible and pray to my Lord-as long as I wanted-and I did!

I ate a healthy breakfast(with my sweet family) drank my favorite tea-with honey
spent time with my beloved (that's my husband)
worked around my home, cleaning and caring for it-it's our little hAven
made my husband a good lunch to take to work
sent him off to work-happy and dressed in clean clothes(we have a washer and dryer)

spent time with my children-laughing, teaching (even correcting at times)
I cleaned my refrigerator---I have one to clean: some people don't
I swept my kitchen, my front porch, my back porch and vacuumed

I enjoyed a pleasant conversation with a friend, we laughed and talked about how good God is
I took time and walked my tiny doggie-she's just adorable

I canned some salsa, some green beans and even some vegetable soup
I read a story to my littlest boy, he read back to me
I got to pray with my children before tucking them into bed
I talked with my older daughter while we finished canning vegetable soup
I got to lay my head on my beloved's shoulder and fall asleep
I know where I'll go if God should come tonight-I'm looking forward to that day

This is all just in one day. It's all just T-O-D-A-Y. Just today.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow and many others, because if I were blessed any more, I just know I'd have to be in heaven.

Happy Fall to you and your family...make it a season of moments you'll cherish and remember all the little things are what make up the BIG things!
Blessings to You! Kimi
